As anticipated, we are holding a contest for the Play to Crush logo! Aspart of the re-branding we will need a new logo, the current one issimply a placeholder. The guidelines will be much the same as they werethe first time around, so no surprises here:

• Keep it within the Forum Code of Conduct and relativelyprofessional, this will represent the project outside of the communityand be the "face" of the project, so to speak.
  
• Try to have it reflect what this community and project stand for.Again, this is the image people will see the project represented by.
  
• Make sure you stay within the bounds implied by the logo format, so nothing too outrageous or complicated, please.
  
• It should be an original work. Use of copyrighted material will not be looked upon favorably when final selections are made.
  
• Finally, make sure you have a copy of the logo that is fairly highresolution, and that the logo would lend itself well toresizing/adapting to different settings. For example, there will likelybe a different size of the logo used on the main page than as a headingfor the forums. Murray suggested that, when considering whether itwould work on the forums, it can be resized to be no more than 80pixels in height.
  

This time around we are allowing two weeks for potential logos tobe submitted, but this deadline may be extended depending on the numberof submissions received. Submissions will be accepted via a threadlinked below until 11:59 PM PST on October 6th, and we ask thatpeople refrain from discussing the entries in that particular thread. Aseparate thread has been created for purposes of discussion. Oncesubmissions are closed the team will go over them internally and pickout as many we feel would be acceptable. Those chosen will go on to apublic vote, and the winning submission will become the new logo.

Disclaimer
This logo will be used in a very wide variety of settings to promotethe project. While we have no extensive plans for the logos use at thispoint, it would not be unreasonable to believe that it could be used onmerchandise (shirt and the like) sometime in the future. As such, ifyour logo ends up winning, its use will be contingent upon agreement torelinquish ownership of it to Play to Crush. We have no desire to"steal" your work, but if the logo does not become the property of theproject complications could potentially arise. The winner will be recognized in an announcement on the site.
